Deuteronomy 5:22 These words the LORD spoke to all your assembly on the mount from the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them to me. 23. And it came to pass, when you heard the voice from the midst of the darkness, (for the mountain did burn with fire,) that you came near to me, even all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;

Deuteronomy 31:17 Then my anger shall be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them, and I will hide my face from them, and they shall be devoured, and many evils and troubles shall befall them; so that they will say in that day, Have not these evils come upon us, because our God is not among us? 18 And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned to other gods.

Job 9:10 Who does great things past finding out; yea, and wonders without number.
Job 11:6 And that he would show you the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacts of you less than your iniquity deserves. 7 Can you by searching find out God? can you find out the Almighty to perfection? 8 It is as high as heaven; what can you do? deeper than hell; what can you know? 9 The measure of it is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.
Job 15:8 Have you heard the secret of God? and do you limit wisdom to yourself?
Job 23:8 Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him: 9 On the left hand, where he does work, but I cannot behold him: he hides himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:
Job 26:14 Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?
Job 33:13 Why do you strive against him? for he gives not account of any of his matters. 14 For God speaks once, yea twice, yet man perceives it not.
Job 34:29 When he gives quietness, who then can make trouble? and when he hides his face, who then can behold him? whether it be done against a nation, or against a man only:

Job 38:1 Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said, 2 Who is this that darkens counsel by words without knowledge? 3 Gird up now your loins like a man; for I will demand of you, and answer you me. 4. Where were you when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if you have understanding. 5 Who has laid the measures of it, if you know? or who has stretched the line upon it? 6 Upon what are the foundations of it fastened? or who laid its corner stone; 7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? 8 Or who shut up the sea with doors, when it broke forth, as if it had issued out of the womb? 15 And from the wicked their light is withheld, and the high arm shall be broken. 16 Have you entered into the springs of the sea? or have you walked in the search of the depth? 17 Have the gates of death been revealed to you? or have you seen the doors of the shadow of death? 18 Have you perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if you know it all. 19 Where is the way where light dwells? and as for darkness, where is its place, 20 That you should take it to its bound, and that you should know the paths to its house? 21 Know you it, because you were then born? or because the number of your days is great? 22 Have you entered into the treasuries of the snow? or have you seen the treasuries of the hail, 23 Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war? 24 By what way is the light parted, which scatters the east wind upon the earth? 25. Who has divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder; 28 Has the rain a father? or who has begotten the drops of the dew? 29 Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who has gendered it? 30 The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen. 31 Can you bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion? 32 Can you bring forth Mazzaroth in its season? or can you guide Arcturus with its sons? 33 Know you the ordinances of heaven? can you set its dominion on the earth? 34 Can you lift your voice to the clouds, that abundance of waters may cover you? 35 Can you send lightning, that they may go, and say to you, Here we are? 36 Who has put wisdom in the inward parts? or who has given understanding to the heart? 37 Who can number the clouds in wisdom? or who can pour out the water bottles of heaven, 38 When the dust grows into hardness, and the clods cleave fast together? 39 Will you hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the appetite of the young lions,

Isaiah 48:6 You have heard, see all this; and will not you declare it? Isaiah 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Matthew 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hid these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them to babes. 27 All things are delivered to me by my Father: and no man knows the Son, but the Father; neither knows any man the Father, except the Son, and he to whomever the Son will reveal him.
Matthew 13:10 And the disciples came, and said to him, Why speak you to them in parables? 11 He answered and said to them, Because it is given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given. 35 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things which have been kept secret from the foundation of the world.
Matthew 20:23 And he said to them, You shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared by my Father.
Mark 13:32 But of that day and that hour knows no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.
John 1:5 And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 26 John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there stands one among you, whom you know not;
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, Verily, verily, I say to you, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 8 The wind blows where it will, and you hear the sound of it, but can not tell where it comes from, and where it goes: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. 12 If I have told you earthly things, and you believe not, how shall you believe, if I tell you heavenly things? 31 He that comes from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaks of the earth: he that comes from heaven is above all.

Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is a hard saying; who can hear it? 61 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said to them, Does this offend you? 62 What if you shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? 63 It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh profits nothing: the words that I speak to you, they are spirit, and they are life. 66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. 67 Then said Jesus to the twelve, Will you also go away? 68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? you have the words of eternal life.
John 8:19 Then said they to him, Where is your Father? Jesus answered, You neither know me, nor my Father: if you had known me, you should have known my Father also. 58 Jesus said to them, Verily, verily, I say to you, Before Abraham was, I am.

John 14:5 Thomas said to him, Lord, we know not where you go; and how can we know the way? 6 Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me. 7 If you had known me, you should have known my Father also: and from henceforth you know him, and have seen him. 8 Philip said to him, Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us. 9 Jesus said to him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet have you not known me, Philip? he that has seen me has seen the Father; and how say you then, Show us the Father? 17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it sees him not, neither knows him: but you know him; for he dwells with you, and shall be in you. 22 Judas, not Iscariot, said to him, Lord, how is it that you will reveal yourself to us, and not to the world?

Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part has happened to Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles shall be come in. 33. O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! 34 For who has known the mind of the Lord? or who has been his counselor?
Romans 16:25 Now to him that is able to establish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which has been kept secret since the world began,
1 Corinthians 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world to our glory: 8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known [it], they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9 But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him. 10 But God has revealed them to us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, even, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the things of a man, except the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God; that we may know the things that are freely given to us by God. 13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 14 But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 16 For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
1 Corinthians 8:2 And if any man thinks that he knows any thing, he knows nothing yet as he ought to know.

2 Corinthians 3:18 But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
Ephesians 1:9 Having made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he has purposed in himself:
Ephesians 3:3 That by revelation he made known to me the mystery; (as I wrote before in few words, 4 By which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) 8 To me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; 9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world has been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
Ephesians 5:31 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. 32 This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Colossians 2:2 That their hearts may be comforted, being knit together in love, and to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; 3 In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. 18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
Colossians 4:3 At the same time praying also for us, that God would open to us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds:
2 Thessalonians 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity does already work: only he who now restrains will do so, until he be taken out of the way.

1 Timothy 6:15 Who in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords; 16 Who only has immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach; whom no man has seen, nor can see: to whom be honor and power everlasting. Amen.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 13 Neither is there any creature that is hidden in his sight: but all things are naked and opened to the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
Hebrews 5:11 Of whom we have many things to say, and hard to be uttered, seeing you are dull of hearing.
James 4:13 Come now, you that say, To day or tomorrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain: 14 Though you know not what shall be tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away. 15 Instead of that you ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.
1 Peter 1:10 Of this salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come to you: 11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ who was in them did signify, when he testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. 12 To whom it was revealed, that not to themselves, but to us they ministered the things, which are now reported to you by them that have preached the gospel to you with the Holy Spirit sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
1 John 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knows us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 6 Whoever abides in him sins not: whoever sins has not seen him, neither known him.

Revelation 19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
How blessed we are that God has revealed much of Himself and His workings to us. No wonder, at times, does God's nature and word seem to "contradict" itself. We can never understand all of Him. While God is very intimate and personal with each of us, let us not forget that He is so big that the very universe can not contain Him, let alone our denominations and doctrines.
